Long-Term Opportunities
Here are some reasons why you might consider coming to work in Germany long-term: Your major requires an internship. You want a break to serve the Lord before you head to college or before you get a "real" job. You have always dreamed of traveling the world and you may have studied a bit of German in school. You want to go on the mission field but mom and dad have said no to the middle east, far east and Africa. You love Germans. You want to visit and serve where Martin Luther and the reformation began or where the tragedies of WWII still loom. OR - maybe something else but no matter your reason for coming you feel call calling you to Deutschland. If so, read about these opportunities to serve here:
Venture
Spend one month to one year living among people who have little or no access to the gospel. See how your professional skills can be used to work alongside us. We are open to hearing how God might be calling you to Germany and what He has placed on your heart. Explore and learn about God's mission and your role in it. Experience the joys and challenges of living with a team in a cross-cultural setting. Some highly desired professional skills are musicians, teachers, children workers, coaches, baristas, sport enthusiasts, evangelists, engineers, construction workers of all types, painters, web designers, artists or computer programmers.
Pioneers Full-Time
Here are some of the opportunities we have available for full-time placement on our team in Germany. We welcome your professional skills or experience in any field however so contact us with your ideas.
- Web developers and Graphic Designers – Help to manage, add content, design logos and keep up to date our short and long-term opportunities, current projects, prayer calendar and photos. Manage SEO and social networking aspects of our ministry.
- Children and Youth Workers – We need your experience and enthusiasm and love for youth and children in Germany!
- University Ministry – If you have a background in University ministry, a gift for apologetics or if you just love students, we need you.
- EFL/ESL Education Ministry – Much of the current German population and international community views Christianity as irrelevant or outdated and do not attend church. We hope to give them the desire to get back into the church in a non-threatening and inviting way by teaching English as a second language. Although taught in the German school system, many adults have forgotten what they learned and want to use English again – for traveling, communicating with international friends or for their work place. If you have a background in EFL or ESL or speak English as a native speaker and have a passion for teaching, we would love for your leadership in this area.
- Construction and Renovation Worker – Use your previous construction experience to develop a plan to tackle the renovation of the various ministry buildings. Estimate the cost of necessary supplies, supervise teams of volunteers that will work on the renovations and assist in all aspects of the work project.
Volunteer/Partner
Part of our success is working alongside national partners and having German volunteers assist us throughout the year. Here are some opportunities and ways you can get involved.
- Help organize meals or events for a team during the summer. Each summer we have two to three teams of students and adults that will come to volunteer and serve alongside our ministry. You can help cook a meal, assist in team events like canoe trips or nightly games or lead sightseeing trips.
- If you have a love for evangelism and reaching others with the gospel, contact us for more information on how you can get involved either leading one of the groups in the summer or participating with us through the year.
- If you love teaching and have extra time, help us organize and teach classes during one of the children or youth camps each summer.
- If you have construction, carpentry, electrical, plastering or other hands on useful renovation skills, contact us about how you can help at the CVJM. Year-round assistance in this area is needed.
- If you are patient and tolerant of less than perfect German speakers and want to volunteer to tutor or teach members of our team, we would welcome your assistance.
- Help spread the word that we are here and share about the opportunities we have for Germans to go on missions trips by translating our website into the German language.
- Love Jesus and love leading missions teams? Be a part of the first missions teams going out from Germany to the UK and Eastern Europe. Plans include teams each spring and fall.
